The voice behind
the music

Zach Rubens is a classical tenor based in Toronto, passionate about a diverse repertoire spanning opera, oratorio, musical theatre and art song. A graduate of McGill University’s BMus in Classical Voice Performance, where he studied under Annamaria Popescu, Zach brings a versatile and expressive voice to every stage he steps on.

Active on stages across Ontario and beyond, Zach has recently performed with The Mendelssohn Choir alongside the Toronto Symphony Orchestra in Orff’s Carmina Burana and the Choir’s celebrated Festival of Carols concert, as well as with the Divertimento Orchestra in Ottawa. By day, he works full-time as a healthcare strategy leader — but the stage is never far.

Away from the score, you’ll find Zach with a guitar in hand, hunting down the city’s best pour-over, or warming up in a Finnish sauna — a habit picked up from time spent living in Finland.
